• Dear Participants of the AES Show 2025 in Long Beach and the Central European Region

It is a wonderful opportunity to meet face-to-face during the AES Show, and I warmly invite you to find a moment to connect while we’re there.

As my second term as Vice President of the Central Europe Region comes to a close, I want to express my heartfelt thanks. It has been an incredible journey working with you, and I’m truly grateful for the trust, energy, and ideas we’ve shared along the way. Before I step aside, I’d love to invite you to join some upcoming conversations about audio-related issues in our region.

Can we reflect together on the vision and role of AES in today’s evolving technological landscape, where numerous concurrent conferences and workshops are held, often remotely? How can we encourage more university researchers to present their work at AES conventions? How can we reignite enthusiasm for in-person meetings and attract new members? How can we reach independent acousticians & equipped with advanced tools and working autonomously, and inspire them to share their experiences? How can we foster year-round collaboration across Europe?

And perhaps even explore the possibility of intercontinental meetings? I’m eager to hear your thoughts and insights on these questions.

With great confidence and joy, I now pass the baton to Piotr Majdak, who will take over the Central Europe Region presidency. I know he will bring fresh energy and vision to our work, and I look forward to seeing how the Society continues to grow under his leadership.

Though my role is changing, this is not goodbye. I look forward to continuing our collaborations, friendships, and shared endeavors in new ways.

      Warm regards,

      Ewa Łukasik

      Central Europe Regional Vice-President
