From October 29 to 31, CAPER SHOW 2024, the flagship event by the Argentine Chamber of Professional Audiovisual Equipment Manufacturers and Integrators (CAPER), gathered Broadcast, Cable, Satellite, Film, Lighting, and Audio professionals at Costa Salguero. This event featured state-of-the-art technology exhibitions and a technical-academic program with training sessions, workshops, seminars, and live demonstrations.AES Argentina curated an academic program of six talks, covering topics from live sound techniques to innovations in AI for audio and streaming. The program began with “Riders and Audio Planning for Live Shows” by Maga Martinho and Emilio Nicoli, discussing the essential steps for efficient live event audio preparation. Later, Natalia Perelman, Clara Parodi, Francisco Parodi, and Bruno Marchetti presented “Miniatures, First Album of the Celia Torrá Women’s Symphony Orchestra,” highlighting the technical challenges and successes in capturing symphonic ensembles.
On October 30, Julio and Agustín Gorriti hosted “Installations and Broadcast Audio,” detailing key aspects of audio installation in broadcasting. That evening, Sergio Paoletti, Gastón Lema, and Cana San Martin led “Intelligent Sounds: How AI Transforms Production Workflows,” discussing AI’s transformative role in music production workflows.
The talks concluded on October 31 with “Direct Sound Workflow for Film and OTT” by Rubén Piputto, Javier Farina, and Mercedes Tennina, underscoring direct sound’s importance in cinematic and OTT productions. Hernán Ranucci closed the event with “Dante Protocol: Deployment and Implementation,” which explored the use of Dante in large-scale sound systems.
Institutional Stand
AES Argentina’s booth welcomed visitors throughout CAPER, serving as a hub for engagement with commission members and Student Sections from Argentina. It fostered exchanges and strengthened institutional connections in the industry.Acknowledgments
