• Incredibly blessed to be a part of The School of Production summer workshop by Production Brew as an audio faculty alongside Dean Stracey! Through years of learning on the field, we were able to bring this to life and share our knowledge about the physics and basics of sound.

Over the five days, we covered the absolute fundamentals of audio engineering, starting with frequency, amplitude, and live event environments. Students got practical experience building and testing complete signal chains, exploring various microphones, understanding polar patterns, and mastering instrument handling by miking a full band setup.

We then dove deep into analog and digital console workflows, balancing gain staging, and shaping sources with equalization. This progressed into building PA systems, routing signals, and crafting both wedge and in ear monitor mixes. Students also gained valuable experience with dynamics processing and feedback control techniques.

Everything culminated in a complete live workflow simulation where students handled stage patching, soundcheck procedures, and artist communication. Their final assessment involved running a full live performance mix, managing effects, and troubleshooting real world issues. I am so proud of everyone who participated and stepped up to the console!
