Summary
This week’s meeting started off with introductions among office holders and attendees. The intro questions for this meeting were “do you play any instruments” and “what kind of music do you create?” Then the moderators introduced current office holders. Current office holders include:

Kiara Lewis, Nat Marquez – TechsThe meeting continued with the moderators explaining what AES does and the benefits of being a member. Student membership pricing was also discussed. Vice president, Kai, continued the meeting by introducing the subgroups at CRAS and explaining how one can start a subgroup. Current subgroups at CRAS include jammers, music creation/songwriting, sound design and CRAS Connected (radio). President Kevin Reyna, introduced CRAS Mentors and talked about what they do. CRAS Mentors is a group that gives students the opportunity to help other students academically. Women of Audio is a group at CRAS that focuses on women in the audio industry. The group is run by CRAS teacher Nancy Scharlau-Murman.
The CRAS AES Instagram page was introduced to attendees and then the meeting continued with the sound design contest. Moderators took the time to explain what the contest involves and how one can enter. The plugin of the week for this meeting was Spitfire BBC Symphonic Orchestra Discover. The plugin includes 34 instruments and 47 techniques. The meeting ended with attendees from cycle 12 talking about their experiences and time at CRAS.
